Todd Di Leo, DC
At a young age, Todd Di Leo was intrigued by the physical ability of the human body as he watched professional hockey players and track athletes perform and achieve amazing feats. He was not content to just watch competitive sports, but was motivated to participate.
Some of his athletic accomplishments include playing hockey in Ontario, Canada, finishing 4 Ironman Triathlons and running multiple marathons in New York, Chicago and Tampa to name a few.
Dr. Di Leo understands first hand, how healthy lifestyle choices are the key to overall wellness and performance. It’s from this, that Dr. Di Leo developed a passion to help the community in understanding that it’s much easier to stay well than to get well. To regain our lost health we need to focus on the root cause of illnesses and not simply treat the symptoms.
After graduating as a Chiropractic Physician from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago Illinois, he open practice in the Tampa area in 1992. As the founder and CEO of Intrinsic Wellness Clinic, his approach is based on Lifestyle and Functional Medicine which centers around a personalized, body systems-oriented model that empowers patients and practitioners to collaborate on overall health. Dr. Di Leo’s philosophy is that each patient can achieve the highest expression of health by identifying the underlying cause of disease specific to their symptoms and their lifestyle choices.
Todd Di Leo has completed several hundred hours in preventative medicine, sports performance, sports rehab and clinical nutrition. Dr. Di Leo is trained by the Institute of Functional Medicine and is a Certified Gluten Practitioner. With this approach, Dr. Di Leo helps individuals get to the root cause of their chronic illness so they can return to optimum health. He provides patients with programs to improve diet, lifestyle, environment and overall well being.
In addition, Dr. Di Leo has also completed training in the Bredesen Protocol. The protocol is based on Dr. Dale Bredesen’s book “The End of Alzheimer’s” which advances the understanding and application of programs to reverse cognitive decline.

Dr. Di Leo’s philosophy lies in a systematic approach that looks at the person as a whole, not an isolated set of symptoms. The patient and practitioner develop a partnership in which the doctor spends time learning about many aspects of the patient’s health that may be contributing to the problems at hand. Dr. Di Leo listen to patients’ histories to find interactions between genetic, lifestyle and environmental factors that may be contributing to long-term health challenges. It’s for this reason that functional medicine can be customized to support each patient’s unique expression of health and vitality. In doing this, we’re able to create a patient centered, not disease centered approach to healing the body.
